Music Places: Alfa Romeo City Sound 2013 in Milan

Is there anything better in the world than connecting 2 passions: music and travelling?
The answer is clear ;) Today, I would like to write about such a trip, which we made to sunny  Italy for a Music Festival in June.

Everyone, who at least once in their lifetime was on music festival knows that it is a paradise for music fans. Normally, such a event lasts a few days during which you can listen to different music bands, drink a  lot of beer and meet other fans and artists.

Alfa Romeo City Sound in Milan is a bit different, as you can see looking at the line up below:

Yup, 1 day = 1 artist (except 12th June). It is quite unusual, but for people who go to Italy from different countries, that was a great solution!
We chose a concert on the 12th June, 'cuz we wanted to see The Killers and Stereophonics on stage!

But let’s start from the beginning.

We arrived at Ippodromo del Galoppo about 4 p.m. and we saw a huge crowd waiting at the entrance. We sat downat the end of the queue. I must say the wait wasn’t boring at all because of huge number of stalls with food, gadgets and clothes near the entrance. The Italian people were very friendly, they were coming to us very often asking if we don’t need anything.

If you want to be standing it the first row, you should be ready to wait many hours, sometimes in rain or sun. As you can see, if the weather was fine in Milan, so it wasn't all that difficult. The people were sitting on the ground and chatting ;)

Finally, it's show time!!!

Festivals are a beautiful initiative, but don’t forget that there are two types of people who go there. The first group are the people who want to spend a nice time with friends, drink beer and simply have fun. The second are fans, crazy people who will do everything to be up front ;)
